Interpretive

Critical Range:above 1%
Reference Range:Less than 1% is usually considered normal in non-splenectomized patients.
Use:Evaluate hemolytic anemias with RBC enzyme deficiencies (e.g.. GG PD deficiency), hemoglobin, congenital Heinz Body hemolytic anemia (CHBHA). Perform when many "bite cells" are seen on routine peripheral blood smears.
