Causes for Rejection:Hemolyzed serum. Sample not separated from cells within 2 hours of collection.


Processing and Shipping

Specimen Processing:Within 2 hours, centrifuge and aliquot 0.3 mL, 0.15 mL minimum. Store in refrigerator up to 72 hours or freeze.
Shipping Instructions:Ship at refrigerated temperature or on dry ice.

Interpretive

Reference Range:

188-240 U/mL

The anti-DNase B is slightly elevated

241-360 U/mL

The anti-DNase B is elevated

361-640 U/mL

The anti-DNase B is moderately elevated

>640 U/mL

The anti-DNase B is greatly elevated

 

A single Anti-DNase B analysis may not be meaningful due to the variability of values within the normal population. Both clinical and laboratory findings should be considered in reaching a diagnosis.

 

Use:To detect an immune response to group A streptococcal infections or complications.
