Specimen Processing:Separate serum from cells within 2 hours of collection. Centrifuge and aliquot 1 mL, 0.15 mL minimum. Store in refrigerator.

Interpretive

Reference Range:Less than 1:4 titer (no antibody detected) Islet cell antibodies (ICAs) are associated with type 1 diabetes (T1D), an autoimmune endocrine disorder. These antibodies may be present in individuals years before the onset of clinical symptoms.
