Specimen Processing:Allow specimen to clot completely at room temperature.Centrifuge and aliquot 2 mL, 0.5 mL minimum within 2 hours of collection. Store in refrigerator. Label sample as acute or convalescent.

Reference Range:
Toxoplasma Antibody, IgG
7.1 IU/mL or less Not detected.
7.2-8.7 IU/mL Indeterminate. Repeat testing in 10-14 days may be helpful.
8.8 IU/mL or greater Detected.
 
Toxoplasma Antibody, IgM
7.9 IU/mL or less Not detected.
8.0-9.9 IU/mL Indeterminate. Repeat testing in 10-14 days may be helpful.
10.0 IU/mL or greater Detected. Significant level of Toxoplasma gondii IgM antibody detected may indicate a current or recent infection. However, low levels of IgM antibodies may occasionally persist for more than 12 months post-infection.
