Container:Green (lithium heparin) on ICE (Plastic leakproof container, sterile, Green (sodium heparin, no gel) on ICE, Red (no gel), Red or gold (gel))
Collection Instructions:All specimens should be on ice. Deliver to laboratory immediately.
Causes for Rejection:Moderate hemolysis or very viscous specimens.

Processing and Shipping

Specimen Processing:Analyze as soon as possible (ideally within 15 minutes). If transport is required, aliquot 0.2 mL, 0.1 mL minimum and store on ice up to 24 hours; otherwise freeze immediately.
Shipping Instructions:Ship on dry ice.
