Specimen:Synovial fluid
Optimal Volume:1 mL
Minimum\Peds Volume:Laboratory will accept <1 mL (do not use EDTA microtainer). Labeled, capped syringe is acceptable when volume is very small.
Container:Plastic leakproof container, sterile (Plain syringe, Purple (EDTA))
Collection Instructions:Deliver to laboratory immediately.
Causes for Rejection:Specimen collected in lithium heparin or gel tubes.
