Turnaround Time:Specimens must arrive at testing laboratory no later than 11:00 am on Thursday. Testing is set up on Thursday and results are reported within 3 weeks.
Special Instructions:A signed informed consent in the patient's medical record is required. The consent should not be sent to the laboratory. See Associated Links. Samples must be received at testing site within 24 hours of collection. A completed requisition form must be sent with each sample. Collection Instructions

Optimal Volume:17 mL
Minimum\Peds Volume:8.5 mL
Container:Yellow (ACD, Solution A) tube available from laboratory
Collection Instructions:Specimens must be collected after 10:00 am on Wednesday and received in East Bank Core Lab by 1400. Do not collect the Wednesday before a holiday.
Patient Preparation:Patients should not be on immunosuppressive medications such as steroids or calcineurin inhibitors.
Causes for Rejection:Specimens greater than 24 hours old. Refrigerated, frozen, hemolyzed, clotted or centrifuged specimens. Specimens in the wrong anticoagulant.

Processing and Shipping

Specimen Processing:Whole blood. Do not process.
Shipping Instructions:Ship at room temperature. Sample must be less than 24 hours old and arrive in the testing laboratory no later than 11:00 am on Thursday.
