Serotnnin Transporter Genotype (HTT or SLC6A4)

Sunquest Code:HTT
Epic Code:LAB6347Epic Name:Serotnnin Transporter Genotype HTT or SLC6A4
Methodology:Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) followed by sizing analysis
CPT Code:81479
Turnaround Time:Specimens are sent to reference laboratory Mon-Fri; results are reported within 1-4 days.
Special Instructions:Bone marrow transplants will interfere with testing. Call Mayo Medical Laboratories at 800-533-1710 or 507-266-5700 for instructions. Wait 4 to 6 weeks until transfused cells have left the patient's circulation before drawing the patient's blood specimen for genotype testing. A signed informed consent in the patient's medical record is required; the consent form should not be sent to the laboratory. See Associated Links.
