Causes for Rejection:Contaminated, hemolyzed, icteric or lipemic specimens.

Processing and Shipping

Specimen Processing:Separate from cells ASAP or within 2 hours of collection and aliquot 0.5 mL, plus 0.2mL minimum. Store in refrigerator.
Shipping Instructions:Ship at refrigerated temperature.
Stability:After separation from cells, 48 hours at room temperature; 2 weeks refrigerated; and 1 year frozen.

Reference Range:
0.00-90.0 mcg/mL Negative - No significant level of A. fumigatus IgG antibody detected.
90.01-99.99 mcg/mL Equivocal - Questionable presence of A. fumigatus IgG antibody.
100.00 mcg/mL or greater Positive - A. fumigatus IgG antibody detected. A positive result satisfies a single criterion in the determination of allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis (ABPA).
Use:Aspergillus fumigatus-specific IgG is one component of testing recommended to establish the diagnosis of allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis (ABPA); it is not appropriate for diagnosing invasive aspergillosis.
