Processing and Shipping

Specimen Processing:Separate from cells within 2 hours. Centrifuge and aliquot 0.5 mL, 0.15 mL minimum. Store in refrigerator.
Shipping Instructions:Ship at refrigerated temperature.
Stability:Stability: After separation from cells: 48 hours at room temperature; 2 weeks refrigerated, 1 year frozen.

Use:The presence of the anti-C1q IgG antibody may be associated with increased risk of lupus nephritis or with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) global activity. Anti-C1q antibodies are not specific for SLE; strong clinical correlation with disease is recommended.
