Interpretive

Reference Range:

Less than 0.10 kU(a)/L

No significant level detected.

F232:

0.10 kU(a)/L or greater

Susceptible to heat denaturation, higher risk of reaction to uncooked egg, lower reaction to cooked egg, patient likely to “outgrow” egg allergy.

F233

0.10 kU(a)/L or greater

Resistant to heat denaturation, higher risk of reaction to all forms of egg, patient unlikely to “outgrow” egg allergy with high levels of specific IgE to ovomucoid.

Use:Detection of possible allergic responses to egg components and the risk for systemic reaction.
