  • All sites except FRH: Green (lithium heparin gel tube) and, Alternate: Fresh whole blood collected in dry heparin syringe.
  • FRH  and FSH CT/MRI only: Green (lithium heparin tube)
  • Lithium heparin tubes must be filled to manufacturer's fill line indicated by the black box on the label.
  • Patients taking Hydroxyurea should not have this test performed. Incorrect results will be obtained. Order a LAB66 (Creatinine). 
  • If not tested immediately, re-mix sample by rolling syringe between palms for at least 5 seconds each in two different directions, then invert the syringe repeatedly for at least 5 seconds. Discard the first 2 drops of blood.
