Causes for Rejection:Contaminated, heat-inactivated, hemolyzed, severely lipemic specimens. Any other body fluid.


Processing and Shipping

Specimen Processing:Within 2 hours of collection, centrifuge and aliquot, 1 mL, 0.2 mL minimum. Store in refrigerator.
Shipping Instructions:Ship at refrigerated temperature.
Stability:After separation from cells: 48 hours at room temperature; 2 weeks refrigerated; 1 year frozen.

Reference Range:
Negative No significant level of Leptospira IgM antibody detected.
Equivocal   Questionable presence of Leptospira IgM antibody detected. Suggest repeating in 10-14 days.
Positive Presence of IgM antibody to Leptospira detected Suggestive of current or recent infection.
