Collection Instructions: | Immediately place tissue into three containers: 1) for light microscopy, place into 10% formalin fixative; 2) for IF, place into Zeus Fixative; 3) for EM, place into 4:1 formaldehyde. Glutaraldehyde fixative available from the EM lab. Mark location of specimen and time placed in fixative on label of container. At FSH and FRH: Use 3 part kit available in Pathology Department; refer to department procedure for shipping instructions. For Consults: Collect in Glutaraldehyde (2.5%) fixative available from laboratory. Tissues routinely fixed in buffered formalin are suitable in selected instances. Contact Surgical Pathology at 612-273-3486 for collection procedure. At FSH and FRH: Use 3 part kit available in Pathology Department; refer to department procedure for shipping instructions. |
