Processing and Shipping

Specimen Processing:Centrifuge and separate serum or plasma from cells within 2 hours of collection. Aliquot 1 mL, 0.5 mL minimum. Store in refrigerator.
Shipping Instructions:Ship at refrigerated temperature.
Stability:After separation from cells: 5 days at room temperature; 2 weeks refrigerated; 6 months frozen.

Interpretive

Critical Range:Toxic level: >500 ng/mL
Toxic concentrations may cause anticholinergic effects, drowsiness, and cardiac abnormalities.

Use:Optimize drug therapy and monitor patient adherence.
