Processing and Shipping
Specimen Processing: | Centrifuge and aliquot 2 mL, 1 mL minimum. Store in refrigerator. |

Must include a completed request form (or ARC Connect request) with sample. Do not send to Sendouts. Blood Bank will coordinate delivery directly to American Red Cross. |

Use: | Detect platelet reactive antibodies seen in neonatal alloimmune thrombocytopenia, post-transfusion purpura, autoimmune thrombocytopenia, and with transfusion-associated platelet refractoriness. |
