Processing and Shipping

Specimen Processing:Centrifuge and aliquot 0.25 mL, 0.1 mL minimum. Store in refrigerator if testing is to be performed within 6 days. Refer to stability for storage options.
Shipping Instructions:Ship at refrigerated temperature.
Stability:2 days at room temperature; 6 days refrigerated; 40 days frozen.
SPECIMEN STORAGE: Serum and plasma specimens may be stored at room temperature (15- 30°C) for up to two days before testing. If testing will not be performed within two days of sample collection, serum and plasma specimens should be stored at 2- 8°C if the test is to be run within 6 days of collection. If testing is delayed more than 6 days, the specimen should be frozen (-20°C or colder). Mix specimen well by gentle inversion of the tube immediately before testing.

Whole blood collected by venipuncture may be stored at room temperature (15- 30°C) for up to two days before testing. If testing will not be performed within two days of sample collection, whole blood collected by venipuncture should be stored at 2- 8°C if the test is to be run within 6 days of collection.
