Reference Range:
< 9 U Negative. No significant level of Shistosoma IgG
antibody detected.
9-11 U Equivocal. Recommend repeat testing in 2-4
weeks with fresh sample.
>11 U Postive. IgG antibodies to Schistosoma detected
which may suggest current or past infection.
Use:Aids in the diagnosis of schistosomiasis. Positive results in patients from endemic areas may not represent active infection.
