Limitations: | Heterophile antibodies and rheumatoid factor can cause positive interference. Cross reactions due to closely related antigenic epitopes are seen in patients with histoplasmosis, paracoccidiodomycosis, and pencilliosis. Rare cross reactions have been seen in patients with aspergillosis and cryptococcosis. |
Use: | Aid in the diagnosis of disseminated or acute pulmonary blastomycosis. |
