Special Instructions:Provide FIO2 and specimen type (arterial, venous or capillary) on request form.


Collection Instructions

Specimen:Blood
Optimal Volume:1 mL
Minimum\Peds Volume:0.5 mL (3 mL syringe); 0.2 mL (tuberculin syringe); 0.1 mL (capillary tube)
Collection Instructions:Refer to Arterial Blood Gas with Oxyhemoglobin for collection instructions. Specimen should be free of air bubbles. Deliver to laboratory immediately; if received within 20 minutes, ice is not required.


Processing and Shipping

Specimen Processing:Do not store.
Shipping Instructions:Ship on wet ice to arrive within 2 hours. Do not send in PTS.
