Collection Instructions: | Freeze in 2-methylbutane (isopentane) and liquid nitrogen. Do not allow specimen to thaw; keep frozen. Alternatively, preserve tissue with Michel's or Zeus fixative at room temperature. Deliver specimen to Renal Immunopathology Laboratory, 13-229 Moos Tower; call laboratory at 612-626-3286 (or 1-800-888-8642) for instructions or to arrange for immediate specimen pick-up. |
Causes for Rejection: | Specimen in formalin or Zenker's fixative; improper freezing. |
Processing and Shipping
Specimen Processing: | Store frozen tissue on dry ice or in -70C freezer. Store tissue preserved with Michel's or Zeus fixative at room temperature. |
Shipping Instructions: | Ship frozen tissue on dry ice; Zeus or Michel's fixed tissue at room temperature. Ship overnight express or within 24 hours, Mon-Thur only; do not ship Fridays. |
