Interpretive
Reference Range: | By report. The ADVIA Centaur CEA and Vista 1500 Amylase methods are used. Results obtained with different assay methods or kits cannot be used interchangeably. |
Use: | Malignant lesions can shed cells into a fluid in close proximity of the tumor. Isolating diagnostic cells from their supernatant aids in the detection or extent of a disease. Using the supernatant from a pancreatic cyst specimen preserves the supernatant, so it can be used at a later date for analysis of tumor markers, viscosity and enzymes. |
