Optimal Volume: | 2-3 mL EDTA tube or 0.5 mL in an EDTA microtainer (do not fill more than 0.5 mL) |

Collection Instructions: | Immediately mix specimen 10 times by gentle inversion. |
Causes for Rejection: | Clotted, frozen, or centrifuged specimens.
Additionally, certain parameter(s) may also be rejected due to platelet clumping, fibrin strands, cold agglutinins, hemolysis, icterus, and/or lipemia. |

Shipping Instructions: | Ship at refrigerated temperature. |
Stability: | 24 hours room temperature; 48 hours refrigerated; do not freeze.
If more than 24 hours is required for transport, 2 unstained whole blood smears must accompany whole blood EDTA specimen. |
