Test Includes:Use of anti-IgG, C3d if test is positive, monospecific anti-IgG and monospecific anti-C3d will be used. Elution studies will be performed and charged if indicated. (UMMC-East Bank).

The provider may order LAB274 (Direct Antiglobulin Test) on both adult and neonatal patients. Epic will route this to the proper test approriate for the patient's age. Adult Direct Antiglobulin Test (PLAB2224) includes testing with polyspecific Anti-IgG, C3d.

Collection Instructions:Strict specimen labeling requirements must be followed for blood bank testing. The patient's full name and identification number on the specimen label MUST EXACTLY MATCH the name and identification number on the request form. The specimen label must include the following information:
  1. Patient's first and last name
  2. Patient's identification number
  3. Date and time of specimen collection
  4. Initials of the person collecting the sample, indicating that the patient's identity has been verified.

Use:Detects immunoproteins, IgG or complement absorbed on red cells. Used to detect autoimmune hemolytic anemias caused by antibody and/or complement components bound to patient red cells (including drug-induced), transfusion reaction, and erythroblastosis fetalis.
