Cytochrome P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) Comprehensive Cascade

Abbrev Code:MMMISC
Order Code:LAB4909Order Name:Laboratory Miscellaneous Order
Methodology:Polymerase chain reaction (PCR)/DNA sequencing
CPT Codes: 0070U x1
Turnaround Time:Specimens are sent to reference laboratory Mon-Fri; results are reported within 3-16 days.
Special Instructions:Transfusions will interfere with testing for up to 4-6 weeks. DNA obtained from white cells may not provide useful information for patients who received a recent transfusion of blood that was not leukocyte-reduced. Wait 4-6 weeks until transfused cells have left the patient's circulation before drawing the patient's blood specimen for genotype testing. A signed informed consent in the patient's medical record is required; the consent form should not be sent to the laboratory. See Associated Links.
