The test was developed and its performance characteristics determined by ARUP Laboratories. It has not been cleared or approved by the US Food and Drug Administration. This test was performed in a CLIA certified laboratory and is intended for clinical purposes.

Specimen:Blood, bone marrow, CSF or tissue
Optimal Volume:2 mL blood or 1 mL bone marrow (EDTA only) or CSF
Minimum\Peds Volume:1.2 mL blood or 0.5 mL bone marrow (EDTA only) or CSF
Container:Purple (EDTA)
Alternate Containers: Sterile tube, Container, Tissue, sterile, Red (no gel), Red (gel)
Collection Instructions:Also acceptable: fresh tissue frozen immediately or formalin-fixed and paraffin embedded tissue.
Causes for Rejection:Heparinized specimens; tissues in formalin (not paraffin embedded) or other preservatives.

Processing and Shipping

Specimen Processing:Blood: Centrifuge and aliquot 1 mL, 0.5 mL minimum plasma or serum. Do not process CSF, bone marrow or tissue. Store plasma, serum CSF and fresh tissue frozen. Store bone marrow refrigerated and paraffin-embedded tissue at room temperature.
Shipping Instructions:Ship plasma, serum, CSF and fresh tissue on dry ice. Ship bone marrow refrigerated and paraffin-embedded tissue at room temperature.
