Test Performed at or Referral Lab | Lab Sendouts (ARUP) |
Referral Lab number: | 3000867 |
Interpretive
Reference Range: | Not detected. An interpretation of "Not Detected" does not rule out the presence of PCR inhibitors or HIV-1 virus RNA concentrations below the level of detection of the assay. Care should be taken in the interpretation of any single viral load determination. The clinical significance of changes in HIV-1 RNA measurements has not been fully established; however, a change of 0.5 log copies/mL may be significant. |
Use: | This test is intended as an indicator of disease prognosis. This test is also used as an aid in assessing viral response to antiretroviral treatment as measured by changes in HIV-1 RNA levels. |
