Collection Instructions

Specimen:Urine, random collection
Optimal Volume:Submit entire collection in the original container. If reflexed to confirmatory testing 20 mL; 10 mL minimum is required.
Container:Plastic leakproof container, sterile


Processing and Shipping

Specimen Processing:Keep in original container. Initial testing requires 7 mL, 0.6 mL minimum; confirmatory testing requires 10 mL minimum. Store in refrigerator up to 24 hours; freeze for longer storage.
Centrifuge highly turbid specimens before testing.
Shipping Instructions:Ship in original container at refrigerated temperature to arrive within 24 hours.
Stability:Refrigerate and test within 5 days of collection.
Test Performed at or Referral Lab Chemistry  (Roche-Ridges, Roche-Southdale, Roche-UMMC West)


Interpretive

Reference Range:Negative. Cutoffs for positive results: Opiate >300 ng/mL; amphetamine >500 ng/mL, cannabinoid >50 ng/mL, cocaine >300 ng/mL, phencyclidine >25 ng/mL. This is an unconfirmed screening result to be used for medical purposes only.
