Collection Instructions: | Collect specimen prior to dialysis. Do not collect specimen if patient has received IVIG, OKT3 or Campath recently; these drugs may cause false positive results. Inform lab if patient has received anti-thymoglobulin. Lab must remove from serum prior to testing. |
Causes for Rejection: | Gross hemolysis; immunosuppression drug interference. |
Contraindications: | Serum will not clot if collected during or immediately after dialysis. |

Interpretive
Use: | Expanded detection of HLA Class 1 or Class II antibodies in patient serum. High levels of HLA antibody may result in difficulty finding a compatible organ donor. |
