Collection Instructions

Optimal Volume:submit entire collection
Container:Container, Semen
Collection Instructions:Physician instructs patient to abstain from ejaculation for 2-7 days before collection. Patient should collect specimen on-site. In limited circumstances the patient may collect specimen off-site. The laboratory provides instructions for off-site collection.
Causes for Rejection:Specimen greater than 1 hour old. Unapproved container. Improper method of collection.
Contraindications:Incomplete collection of ejaculate may result in decreased sperm number.
