| Causes for Rejection: | Preservatives; less than 1 mL urine; urine samples that are either extremely acidic (below pH 4.0) or basic (above pH 9.0) may produce erroneous results. If adulteration is suspected, obtain an additional specimen and re-test. Clear polystyrene containers may absorb some drugs; use of polypropylene containers is advised. |
