Use: |
Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) is the primary androgenic hormone and is formed by the peripheral action of 5-a-reductase on testosterone. Individuals with a deficiency of 5-a-reductase fail to develop male genitalia and appear to be phenotypic females. DHT and its metabolites are reduced in these patients. Finasteride (ProscarÒ) inhibits 5-a-reductase activity and reduces serum DHT concentrations.
