Specimen:Vaginal, patients 15-50 years old.
Container:CoPan ESwab with larger swab
Collection Instructions:Collect vaginal swab using white cap CoPan Eswab.
Contraindications:Diagnosis for bacterial vaginosis is done by gram stain only per the recommendation of National Regulatory bodies. A routine bacterial culture will not be done. If clinically relevant, a Group B Streptococcus and/or yeast culture can be requested separately.

Interpretive

Reference Range:Nugent score 0-3; normal vaginal flora
