Optimal Volume: | 12 mL in purple top (EDTA) tube and 20 mL in red top (plain) tube. |
Minimum\Peds Volume: | Contact Blood Bank if unable to obtain optimal volume. |

Collection Instructions: | Strict specimen labeling requirements must be followed for Blood Bank testing. The patient's full name and identification number on the specimen label MUST EXACTLY MATCH the name and identification on the request form. The specimen label must include the following information.

Processing and Shipping
Specimen Processing: | Do not process. Store at room temperature. |
Shipping Instructions: | Deliver specimen to Blood Bank (UMMC-East Bank; UMMC/UMMCH-West Bank). Blood Bank will send specimens directly to the Memorial Blood Center. |
