Causes for Rejection: | Clotted specimen |
Contraindications: | Must be tested immediately to avoid sample clotting. INR testing on the CoaguChek is only recommended to monitor anticoagulant therapy. It should not be used on patients with factor deficiencies or any other coagulopathies. |

Critical Range: | INR: Greater than 5.0 |
Reference Range: | 0.9-1.1 |
Therapeutic Range: | INR 1.5-3.5 depends on whether oral anticoagulation is being given prophylactically or for existing thrombosis as well as patient's overall clinical situation, risk of thrombosis. The recommended therapeutic target for most patients is 2.0-3.0. The suggested therapeutic range for inpatient with recurrent thromboembolic event or with additional risk factors is an INR of 2.5-3.5. |
Use: | Monitor oral anticoagulant therapy at the patient's bedside. |
