Collection Instructions: | Collect fresh capillary whole blood by fingerstick. Alternatively, collect venous whole blood in purple (EDTA) tube. |
Contraindications: | Not useful more often than at 4-6 week intervals. Low hemoglobin may cause falsely decreased results. Once the glass capillary is filled with a 1.5 μL blood sample, analysis must begin within one (1) minute. If the blood remains in the glass capillary for more than one (1) minute before beginning the test, reject the sample for testing. Do not analyze hemolyzed or coagulated samples. |

Specimen Processing: | Whole blood. Do not centrifuge. Store in refrigerator.
Capillary sample: Test immediately. |
Shipping Instructions: | Ship refrigerated to arrive within 7 days of specimen collection. |
