Collection Instructions

Optimal Volume:2-3 mL EDTA tube or 0.5 mL in an EDTA microtainer (do not fill more than 0.5 mL) and 2.5 mL green (lithium heparin, gel).
Minimum\Peds Volume:1 mL EDTA tube or 0.3 mL in an EDTA microtainer and 0.6 mL green (lithium heparin, gel).
Container:Green (lithium heparin, gel), Purple (EDTA)
Collection Instructions:Collect both purple (EDTA) and green (lithium heparin, gel) tubes. Immediately mix purple (EDTA) specimen 10 times by gentle inversion.
Causes for Rejection:Clotted or lipemic specimen.
