HSV blood/BAL - This test was developed and its performance characteristics determined by the Infectious Diagnostics Diseases Laboratory. It has not been cleared or approved by the US Food and Drug Administration. This test was performed in a CLIA certified laboratory and is intended for clinical purposes using ASR reagents.



HSV CSF/swabs - This test uses an in vitro diagnostic (IVD) that has been cleared or approved by the FDA.

Causes for Rejection:Calcium alginate swabs and eSwabs are not acceptable. Specimens that do not meet the minimum volume requirements will be cancelled as  "Quantity not sufficient".
