Processing and Shipping
Specimen Processing: | Centrifuge within 24 hours of collection and aliquot 4 mL, 1.8 mL minimum, plasma or serum. Store in refrigerator up to 3 days. Freeze samples if transport time is greater than 3 days. |

The HIV Quant assay has a reportable range of 15 to 100,000,000 IU/mL (1.18 log to 8.0 log IU/mL) for quantification of HCV RNA in plasma or serum.

Use: | Used for patients born between 1945-1965, following the CDC recommendations with an HCV reactive antibody. Can also be used for any patient for which it is clinically recommended. |
