Collection Instructions:Collect in a plastic sterile container. Do not use fixative.
Causes for Rejection:Fixed bronchial specimen; specimen collected in vacuum tube.

Interpretive

Reference Range:Reported as negative to positive for hemosiderin-laden macrophages.
Use:Investigation of intrapulmonary hemorrhage, pulmonary siderosis due to passive congestion, idiopathic pulmonary hemosiderosis, or Goodpasture's syndrome.
