Patient Preparation: | The patient should continue good hydration and avoid cooked meat, coffee, tea, or drugs (especially cephalotoxin and other cephalosporins) throughout the collection period. |
Causes for Rejection: | No serum creatinine collected; collection not timed. |
Processing and Shipping
Specimen Processing: | Mix collection well before aliquot is taken. Centrifuge specimens containing cells or precipitate. Aliquot 1 mL, 0.2 mL minimum. Store in refrigerator. |
