Collection Instructions

Specimen:Urine, random collection
Optimal Volume:Submit entire collection; analysis requires 0.5 mL
Container:Plastic leakproof container, sterile
Collection Instructions:Deliver to laboratory within 1 hour. Specimen of choice is first morning mid-stream clean catch urine. Refrigerate urine if it cannot be delivered immediately.
Causes for Rejection:Collected with preservative.


Processing and Shipping

Specimen Processing:Store in refrigertor. If sending, aliquot 1 mL and send within 2 hours room temperature; 24 hours refrigerated.
Shipping Instructions:Ship at refrigerated temperature.
