Processing and Shipping

Specimen Processing:Centrifuge and aliquot 1 mL, 0.35 mL minimum. Store in refrigerator up to 7 days.
Shipping Instructions:Ship at refrigerated temperature.

18.0-22.0 U/mL Equivocal; please recollect in 1-2 weeks or later
22.0 U/mL or greater Positive; suggests convalescent phase
or past exposure
Note: The magnitude of the result above the cut-off is not indicative of the amount of antibody present.
Use:Assists in establishing that the patient is in a convalescent state or was previously exposed to EBV. EBNA antibodies will normally persist for life.
