| Collection Instructions: | Anaerobic collection containers are not required. Note: Only one specimen accepted per 24 hour period. |
| Causes for Rejection: | Formed stools are not acceptable. Rectal swabs are not acceptable. Feces collected in preservative are not acceptable. |
Processing and Shipping
| Specimen Processing: | Store in refrigerator. Freeze specimen if not transported the same day. |
| Shipping Instructions: | Ship at refrigerated temperature. Must arrive within 24 hours. Alternatively, ship frozen on dry ice if longer than 24 hours. If frozen, specimen must arrive within 72 hours. |
